HOW TO GET THERE

Foreigners

The best way for foreigners to visit the Pillanmapu Geopark is to take a plane to Arturo Merino Benítez Airport in Santiago, Chile.

Once in Chile

If you're coming from the north or south, the easiest way to reach the Pillanmapu Geopark is to take Route 5 to Talca and then continue east on Avenida San Miguel. This road leads to San Clemente and continues as International Route CH-115 towards the Andes Mountains.

To reach Vilches and the Altos de Lircay National Reserve, you must take Route K-705. If your destination is the Condor Valley, Laguna del Maule, or the Pehuenche Pass in general, just continue uphill on CH-115.

From Argentina

The Geopark can also be accessed from Argentina via the Pehuenche International Pass, which connects to the city of Malargüe in the province of Mendoza. To do so, take National Route 145 west from Malargüe until you cross the border into Chile.

When crossing, remember that you will need to complete the corresponding immigration and customs procedures at the border complexes of both countries.
