una red diversa de \u00e1reas protegidas que resguardan algunos de los ecosistemas y geositios m\u00e1s valiosos de la cordillera maulina. Dentro de su territorio conviven figuras p\u00fablicas y privadas de conservaci\u00f3n: la Reserva Nacional Altos de Lircay, cinco parques privados (Tricahue, Peumay\u00e9n Tenglo, Piedras Blancas, Quizapu y Salto La Placeta) y dos Bienes Nacionales Protegidos, Laguna del Maule y Potrero Lo Aguirre. El recorrido comienza entre bosques de <em data-start=\"350\" data-end=\"362\">Nothofagus<\/em>&nbsp;como robles, coig\u00fces y lengas, siendo esta \u00faltima, la <em data-start=\"413\" data-end=\"420\">lenga<\/em> (<em data-start=\"422\" data-end=\"442\">Nothofagus pumilio<\/em>), la especie que aqu\u00ed alcanza su l\u00edmite norte de distribuci\u00f3n. La reserva tambi\u00e9n alberga poblaciones del monito del monte (<em data-start=\"567\" data-end=\"589\">Dromiciops gliroides<\/em>), considerado un f\u00f3sil viviente y uno de los mam\u00edferos m\u00e1s singulares de Sudam\u00e9rica.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"678\" data-end=\"1067\">A medida que se gana altura, los bosques dan paso a matorrales andinos y herbazales de altura, hasta llegar a mesetas volc\u00e1nicas \u00fanicas como El Enladrillado, uno de los geositios m\u00e1s ic\u00f3nicos del territorio. Estos parques privados son: Tricahue, Peumay\u00e9n Tenglo, Piedras Blancas, Quizapu y Salto La Placeta.<\/p><p data-start=\"616\" data-end=\"1044\">A trav\u00e9s de planes de manejo, control de acceso y acciones de restauraci\u00f3n ecol\u00f3gica, estos parques contribuyen de manera directa a la protecci\u00f3n del patrimonio natural y cultural del territorio. El nombre proviene del enorme cr\u00e1ter de explosi\u00f3n Quizap\u00fa, que se encuentra entre los dos gigantes volc\u00e1nicos.<\/p><p>A lo largo del curso del r\u00edo prosperan 400 hect\u00e1reas de bosques nativos.
